Resume

A quick snap shot of some of my past work, experience, and education. I will post up a downloadable PDF with all the dirt on my self. This page is to be a quick look at my resume as well as a complement to my “official” resume. Here’s the scoop:

  • Education & Certifications:
  1. Apple Certified Technical Coordinator 10.5 (ACTC) – 2009.
  2. Apple Certifies Support Professional 10.5 (ACSP) – 2008.
  3. BA in Politics from The University of San Francisco – 2005.
  4. AA in Political Science from Los Angeles Mission College – 2003.
  • Technologies I have experience with:
  1. Mac OS 9 – OS X 10.5, OS X Server 10.4 & 10.5.
  2. *NIX Systems: FreeBSD, Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, Fedora). I have played with and installed OpenBSD, but have not used to too much. I have also touched a SCO OpenUnix box (by that I mean I re-boot the machine once a week).
  3. Windows (I rather not but in the real world I have to): Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 2003 Server.
  4. Virtualization: VM Ware Server and Fusion, Parallels, Virtual Box, I even messed around with Xen.
  5. LAMP / *AMP Stack, Linux / FreeBSD, Apache, MySQL, PHP: Have built some servers with the stack up and running.
  6. Squid Proxy Server / SquidGuard content filtering.
  7. RAID Technologies: Built and Rebuilt RAID systems, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6.
  8. Basic Bash Shell Scripting.
  9. Imaging, Backup, and Restoring of Mac and Windows Systems.
  10. MySQL: I can install it, create new databases and accounts to be used with web applications.
  11. Web Appz I can install and setup: WordPress, MediaWiki, ProjectPier, Trouble Ticket Express, phpMyAdmin.
  12. Kerio Email Server.

  • Media Specific Technologies I have worked with:
  1. Final Cut Studio (Final Cut Pro since v.1).
  2. Avid Express (I’m a FCP guy, but there are some Avid Express Features I like).
  3. Adobe Photoshop 7 – CS4.
  4. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom
  5. Apple Aperture
  6. 3D: Started with Cinema 4D, more recently have used Blender 3D.
  7. Quicktime (yes, it is more than just a player).
  8. The GIMP – Not as great as Photoshop, but it cost $Free.99.
  9. HTML, CSS, and some PHP.
  • Some of my MAD Skills:
  1. Photography: I have been shooting for over 5 years.
  2. Native Spanish Speaker – I can translate for context on the fly, almost.
  3. Nun-chuck Skills (ok, that one is not true, I just had to throw it in).
  • Activities I have been part of / Awards I have recieved:
  1. USF Cesar Chavez Leadership Award – Awarded in 2005 by fellow Latino students @ USF.
  2. Co-Started a Latino Student Organization USF.
  3. Student Body Vice President @ Los Angeles Mission College (2002-2003).
  4. Alpha Gamma Sigma Honors Society
  5. San Fernando Education Technology Team (SFETT): Joined when I was in High School, still am somewhat involved. We done various thing such as held parent computer classes, host the annual iCan Film Festival, and presented at conferences with our leader Marco Antonio Torres (though he will give us all the credit and never toot his own horn).
  6. Santa Rosa Youth Ministry – Group leader and group coordinator.
  • Skills I am currently working on:
  1. Programing / Scripting: Bash, PHP, and Python. Always something new. I also poked around with Microsoft’s PowerShell. I don’t know if I will be spending much time with it but I like my first impressions of it. It kind of feels like a combination of Bash and Python.
  2. Windows 7 : I have a copy of Windows 7 Professional x64 running on my MacBook Pro. I am not switching, but nice job Microsoft.
